Section-by-Section Breakdown
Summary
Lead with your licensure, years of experience, and project types (parks, streetscapes, residential). Include total project count, combined budget value, and your design specialty. Keep it to 2-3 sentences that position your scale and focus.
Skills
Group skills into Design Software, Technical, Standards, and Tools. List every software platform you use regularly. Include certification standards (SITES, LEED) and compliance knowledge (ADA, local codes) that employers require.
Tip: If the posting says "AutoCAD and Civil 3D required," list both separately. Do not group them as "Autodesk products," since ATS scans for each keyword individually.
Experience
Use this formula for every bullet point:
Start bullets with verbs like: Led, Designed, Managed, Produced, Coordinated, Developed, Created. Avoid "Helped with design" or "Assisted the team."
3-5 bullets per role. Lead with your largest or most impactful projects.
Education & Licensure
